When relatives came to visit us San Diego recently, we made them a photo book using layouts from CropMom. It's a fun reminder of their trip and a keepsake that will be treasured for years to come.

We made 21 scrapbook pages online at CropMom using photos from their vacation. To make it easy, we mostly used digital scrapbook graphics from one kit, Offbeat Artistry, whose colors went well with our photos.

We created our 8" by 8" pages in chronological order, from the time they arrived in San Diego until the day they left. We kept the photos from each destination - La Jolla, Old Town San Diego, Balboa Park and Coronado - on their own pages. Each page in the book features one to three photos. One of the layouts we created was for the cover. And the final layout was a 5" by 7" landscape layout for the title page of the book.

Once we downloaded the layouts as print-quality, high-resolution JPEG files from CropMom, we uploaded them to Snapfish.com by HP . When uploading your digital scrapbook pages to an online printer, make sure that you disable the fast-upload service that is the default for many photo services. You'll want your digital scrapbook pages to upload at full resolution so that the resulting prints are crisp and clear. The fast-upload service reduces the image's resolution.

We used Snapfish's online photo-book builder to assemble the vacation scrapbook pages in the correct order. In our photo book, each layout fills up an entire page. We used the 5" by 7" layout on the title page, and used Snapfish's text editor to add a title and date on the book. For the cover, we chose a glossy dust jacket with our cover layout. The dust jacket fits over the hardcover, black linen book.

Our book arrived in about five days from Snapfish. We were thrilled with the quality.
